Hon. Jerry John Ibu, the Assemblyman for Kunchileyiri Electoral Area of the Wa West District of the Upper West Region has sponsored a mock examination for final year Junior High School (JHS) candidates at Kunchileyiri.

The exercise, fully sponsored by the Assemblyman was organised to prepare the candidates for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

At short ceremony to hand over the papers to the headteacher of the school on October 18, 2021, he said the gesture formed part of his quest to improve academic performance in school.

Hon. Jerry therefore entreated the pupils to do away with fear and concentrate on their books so as to come out successfully after the BECE.

He also donated mathematical sets to the candidates writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination as he said the donation formed part of measures to ensure that no candidate lacked basic learning inputs required for the examination.

According to the Assemblyman, the gesture formed part of his avowed commitment towards the pursuit of quality education in the area.

Hon. Jerry told the candidates to reflect soberly on all that their teachers had taught them and what they had also learnt and write the examination in confidence to ensure that the falls within the best performed schools if not the overall best school in terms of BECE output.

The headteacher of the school commended the Assemblyman for instituting such an exercise to promote quality education delivery in the school.

She said the gesture would go a long way to help the students in preparing towards the BECE in the coming month.

The headteacher therefore called for a collective effort in sustaining the programme to help improve academic performance in the school.
