Chairman for the New Patriotic Party in the Bole -Bamboi constituency Sulemana Zakaria, has said that he doesn’t have any power not to accept applications from members of his party who wants to occupy the position of the Central Government Representative in the Bole District.

The Chairman made this known to Yagbon News at his residence on Sunday 31st January 2021, in response to allegations from sections of the party that he is rejecting some application in order to favour his preferred candidate.

The chairman who is known in the political circles as “Bole-Bamboi” explained that after the elections only three people had submitted their applications to him of which was directed  to submit them to the constituency secretary .

“As we speak a lot of people have made known to me their intensions of serving the District in the capacity of the DCE but I am only aware of three aspirants for DCE slot,” Mr. zakaria buttressed.

Chairman Bole -Bamboi also explained that, issues of appointment of DCE is still not even out stating that the Local Government Minister designate, Hon Dan Kwaku Botwe who plays a major role in the selection of DCEs is yet to be vetted.

He said the Local Government Minister will give the modalities as to how they should go about the choices of DCEs.

He also added that he is ready to accept any application now and will not be bias in discharging his duty but remind members of the party that the appointment is not done by himself but the president.

He then urged the general public to disregard the allegation that he is refusing to accept applications from certain people.

The Chairman re-echoed that in the last four years about seven members applied and only one person was chosen and hence cannot reject anybody’s application who is willing to serve the people of Bole.

He called on the party at this moment to support him and also to be united so that who ever that is appointed they can rally behind him or her to foster development in the District.
