The District Chief Executive (DCE ) of the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District was on Saturday March 7, 2020 awarded at the 2nd Edition of the Northern Excellence Awards held at the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale as the “Most Outstanding” DCE in the Savannah Region .
The Northern Excellence Award is a special initiative meant to recognize and honour distinguished personalities who are positively contributing to the development of Northern Ghana and beyond.
Other personalities who were also recognised for their immense contributions to the development of the North included Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Deputy CEO of MASLOC, Hajia Abibata Shaani Mahama and NDC Member Of Parliament for Bolga Central, Hon. Isaac Adongo and NABCO CEO, Dr. Anyars.
Hon. Lawal, speaking to Yagbon News said he was grateful to the organisers of the event.
He told Yagbon News that if one’s efforts are recognized, it boost one’s morale to do more and better in delivering his or her duties and hence was poised to working hard in solving the challenges of his District.
This annual awards ceremony is organized by Celebrities Charity Development Foundation in collaboration with Ghana Tourism Award winners; Smile Multimedia Agency and Partners.
A citation presented to Hon. Lawal Tamimu reads ; “This is in recognition of your outstanding contributions in the Development of the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District in the Savannah Region , through your numerous projects in Sanitation, Health , Education and other developmental initiatives coupled with your leadership role among others, your zeal to develop your District and improve upon the wellbeing of your constituents is remarkable “.
