The youth have been urged to show concern towards the preservation of the nation’s cultural heritage.
Madam Vivian Ne- Ormah Nyoni, the National President of the Brifor Youth Association and also president of the Accra branch who gave the advice, said they should cherish and uphold traditional values and must reflect in their way of life.
She said she was concerned about the situation where many young people adore foreign cultures and despise anything Ghanaian.
Madam Vivian, who spoke to Yagbon News, after the Accra branch of the Association on Sunday February 27, 2022, held an end of year get- together said cultural adulteration, which was fuelling the people’s taste for foreign goods, was unhelpful to the country’s socio-economic development.
Indecent dressing, indiscipline and violence among the youth should be blamed on the neglect of “our traditional way of life.”
She therefore called on chiefs to provide the needed leadership to help the youth to develop self-confidence and promote the rich culture of the nation.
At the event, various cultural practices such as dancing and cooking of different kind of soup were carried out to the admiration of all.
