The Ghana Statistical Service has inaugurated an eight- member District Census Implementation Committee to see to the successful execution of the 2020 population and Housing Census.
The committee is made of the District Information service Department, NCCE, Ghana health service, GES, office of the District Coordinating Director among others.
Speaking on behalf of the District chief Executive, Mr. David Bakuri, said this is a historic moment that needs the support of everyone in the district.
Mr. Bakuri, who is the District Director of Health, said they need maximum cooperation from the technical committee as the exercise is very instrumental for national development.
He however,said the success of the exercise would largely depend on the DCIC and thus urged the local authority to supervise the whole exercise. He said however pledge the support of the District Chief Executive has given her full support to the exercise for its smooth execution.
Speaking exclusively to Yagbon radio the Savannah Regional Statistics officer Mr. Andani Iddrisu Abdulaih said the DCIC is to support the technical committee to make Bole District the topmost in the execution of the task.
He said numbers count in terms of development. A district can only attain massive development because of numbers, policy makers also depend on the population for policy direction and implementation.
He urged everyone to cooperate with them for a successful exercise.
The committee was sworn in and named as working committee.
