Four men arrested at Banda Nkwanta for unlawful possessing of firearm.

Four men have been arrested and hand over to the Bole District Police for investigation’s for possessing a firearm without authorization.

According to a statement by the Bole District Police one Kamal Deen Osman alias “eighty eighty” a community watch volunteer of Banda Nkwanta on June 29, 2021, at about 7:20pm spotted Suspect Zakaria Hamidu in Banda Nkwanta Mosque during prayers, carrying something in a bag suspected to be a gun.

According to the police statement Suspect Zakaria went out to meet Suspects Amadu Hamadu, Bukari Ali, Osman Amadu all Fulani descendants and one other person who escaped.

The community watch members searched the suspects and one locally manufactured  single barrel gun was found in the bag of suspect Zakaria Hamidu.

The Suspects Zakaria Hamidu 32, Hamadu Amadu 26, Osman Amadu 28 and Bukari Ali 37 are in Police custody assisting in investigation’s.

Meanwhile, in a related case, four men have been shot dead for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of four year old a girl, on June 29,2021 at the outskirts of Busunu in the Savannah Region.

According to statement by the Savannah Regional Police Command, the Chief Linguist of Yagbonwura; Alhaji Afoli Losina accompanied by Gbanfuwura; Alhaji Abudu all of Damongo and the Busunu Fulani Chief; Alhaji Amidu Braimah came to the RCID and the former reported that at one of his Children by name Osumanu Seidu age about four years was kidnapped.

That a search party was organized to look for the kidnapped child and in the course of the search, the search party which was led by Adamu Amadu ran into a group of kidnappers in the bush.

That the kidnappers started shooting at them and they also shot back killing four of them.

On receipt of the report, the Deputy Regional Police Commander; DCOP/Mr. Ebenezer Larbi i/c the Regional Crime officer Supt/Mr. Cletus K. Abadamlora , D/C/Inspr. S.S. Gbeve and D/Const. Isaac Frimpong in the company of the Complainant and four standby men on S/V No. GP 49 and GP No. 4784 driven by Inspector Bonney and No. 57169 G/Const. Frimpong Bismark respectively proceeded to the Scene of Crime in the bush, a distance of about four miles away from the Busunu township where four bodies of male adults of fulani extraction with ages between eighteen and thirty four were found dead in a pool of blood some lying in Prone and others in supine positions .Each of them was found wearing a pair of black trousers and black T shirt. On inspection, all the four bodies were found with multiple gunshot wounds, the statement added.

The statement furthered that One Adamu Amadu who sustained gunshot wounds on the left arm was rushed to the Busunu Health Center where he was treated and discharged.

The scene as well as the bodies have been photographed. A pair of white – blew rubber shoe, a pair of sandals and a pair of comboo,and four empty BB cartridges were found at the crime scene, and same retained for investigations, according to the police statement.

The four unknown bodies have been conveyed and deposited at the West Gonja District Hospital morgue for preservation, identification and autopsy.
