Member of Parliament for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency in the newly created Savannah region Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, has echoed his intention to contest the seat for third consecutive terms.
The MP made it known on Thursday, February 23, 2023 in an interview with Yagbon radio.
He believes that he has worked hard enough for the two terms as an MP and hence there is the need to continue his work to better the lives of his constituents.
Indeed there are many challenges confronting my people ranging from inadequate school infrastructure and teachers, inadequate health facilities , rural electrification challenges among others.
As a Member of Parliament whose party is not in government and coupled with the obvious difficulties this current central government itself is faced with, it has become really difficult to fully address many of these challenges as I would have wished to if my party the NDC was in power.
However, I believe that the good people of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency themselves bear witness to the kind of new selfless leadership I have provided since I became their servant in 2017.
I have put in my all in all to serve all manner of people irrespective of their tribe, colour, height, gender and social status to help change the story of Sawla-Tuna- Kalba into a good one.
Many of my interventions which are already public knowledge includes the donation of two ambulances to Sawla hospital and Kalba health centre, donation of hospital beds, donation of desks to schools, drilling of boreholes, supporting communities to put up classroom structures, providing of computers to schools, providing motorbikes to heath facilities, lighting up major streets to improve security, organizing free mock exams and mathematical sets to BECE candidates among others.
Definitely, we aren’t done yet, in fact, we haven’t done of what I wish to achieve with we are gradually turning our image into a good one and this positions us to be able to attract and lobby for more interventions to help address the challenges.
I believe that we have come very far as a team of branch executives, constituency executives and constituents to sacrifice all our toils and go back to restart from scratch which definitely will delay our forward match.
A vote for Hon. Chiwitey is a vote for continuity of purpose while any other option is restarting our collective effort.
I truly appreciate all the opportunities you have given me to serve you and I look forward to you giving me another opportunity for us to continue our agenda to harness the potential Sawla-Tuna- Kalba for social and economic development.
