The Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Committee on Saturday May 21, 2022 held the draw for 8th edition of the famous Juvenile Volleyball Gala to be hosted by Maluwe between 10th-12th June, 2022.
In all, six communities namely: Maluwe, Seripe, Mandari, Simarayiri, Dabouyiri and Mankuma have registered to present teams for the under 15 boys and girls and Under 13 boys and girls categories.
However, Mandari Ball Busters would not present boys’under 13 whiles the host would also be without girls’ under 13.
The unprecedented live draw was preceded by a short meeting held at the premises of Yagbon Radio.
At the meeting members unanimously agreed that the host teams should henceforth be seeded along side the defending champions instead of the runner ups.
The outcome of the draw dazzled all members because of the change of format.
In the Under 15 boys category, 4 times champion Seripe Mighty Fingers which currently holds the tittle had been drawn in the same group with Mandari Ball Busters which has played in all 7 finals winning three and D’Risky Volleyballers of Dabouyiri which had also placed third thrice.
However host team and finalists of the maiden edition Maluwe VC will battle Makumah VC and Simarayiri VC in group A.
Similarly, undisputed girls’ under 15 champions Simarayiri VC and five times finalists Mandari Ball Busters as well fast improving Seripe Mighty Fingers VC had all also been drawn in group B whiles host Maluwe VC, Dabouyiri Risky Volleyballers and Finalists of the last edition Makumah were grouped in the other group.
Interestingly, Maluwe would lock horns with Makumah again in the under 13 boys category whiles Seripe and Simarayiri battle for a places to join the defending champions Dabouyiri in the sime-finals.
In the girls category, Dabouyiri would square up with Seripe whiles Mandari and Mankuma would also face off for rights to join the defending Champion Simarayiri VC.
All coaches had their take on the draw on air but none could say categorical they would win a particular trophy.
The organising Secretary took the opportunity to thank the management of Yagbon Radio for the opportunity to use their premises for the meeting and hosting them on air for the live draw which he said had never happened before.
All roads lead to Maluwe on the 10th, 11th and 12th of June, 2022 for tremendous and scintillating display of raw Juvenile Volleyball skills.
