The Savannah Regional branch of Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fisherman has elected new executives to man the affairs of the association.

Dr. Abutu Kapori, Chairman of the association speaking to Diwura Fatawu on Yagbon morning show Tea Cup, stated that it is a great opportunity for the people of the Savannah region and most especially the farmers and fishermen in the region for the confidence reposed on him.

Dr. Kapori added that it is a manifestation on all of the farmers and fishermen in the region and also as executives of the regional level to move the association to another milestone.

“We have come together to uplift the image of the Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF) in the Savannah region together as a team we shall move forward the crusade, objectives and the plans of GNAFF in the region” he said.

The Chairman of GNAFF noted that as they march forward the development of agriculture in the Savannah region it will have a manifestation at the National level, and it is pleasing to mention that come July as they will be conducting the National executive forum some body from the Savannah Region will be representing.

The Chairman again mentioned that the position he has duly accepted to lead with all of the executives, leadership is not just mere fact that you are leading the people together as a team they are putting ideas together and transforming the place in terms of agriculture and they should make sure that there is discipline among them.

“On behalf of all my colleagues as the regional executives we duly say we have accepted to serve the good people of the Savannah region and more especially the gallant farmers and change will come, change will start from the farmers” he said.

The Chairman also urged the farmers to position them self’s very well and it’s good anytime the government is bringing a package to the farmers it should be a very good one, so anytime the government happens to bring farm inputs is good the farmers register their names with the agric department so they can also enjoy such packages from the central government.

Again there is a road map to resolve farmer header conflicts in the region and the country at large,he stated.
