College for Community and Organizatial Development (CCOD) Inaugurates a mobilization centre at Yerikoi.

The College for Community and Organizational Development (CCOD), in partnership with Jaksally Development Organization has on the 7th of April, 2021, inaugurated a mobilization centre at Yerikoi in the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District of the Savannah Region.

The college which is an organizational Technical University focuses on the development of appreciative young leaders in Africa who will help in their various fields of work in the promotion of development in Africa.

The President of CCOD, Mr. Gabriel Benakuu speaking during the inauguration noted that the college is in collaboration with Jaksally is to help in the transformation of society through education.

Hon. Mauzu Jebril, the Savannah Regional Minister who graced the occasion stated that community development is one of the top most priorities of the government and therefore he is ready as the government representative in the region to cooperate and compliment the efforts of the Jaksally and CCOD in ensuring that community development is promoted in the region.

“Jaksally has been involved in the economic well being of women across the entire Savannah region and I’m promising CCOD and Jaksally of maximum cooperation from the regional Coordinating Council and the MMDCEs in the region”, he assured.

He further acknowledged the challenges of the community and committed to use his office to promote development in the area.

He assured the community primary school of two trained teachers who shall be posted to the community after due processes are followed, and thirty (30) dual desks for the pupils to aid in teaching and learning in the community.

Hon. Muazu Jebril also cautioned traditional leaders in the Kong Traditional Area on illegal mining, the felling of Rose wood for timber and other commercial purposes and called on the chiefs of the traditional area to cooperate with him to help curb the canker in the area.

The overlord of the kong Traditional Area, the Member of Parliament of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, the CEO of the Jaksally Development Organization among other stakeholders called on government through the Regional Minister to come to the aide of the community by providing portal drinking water, electricity, good roads among other social amenities to the area.

Speaking to Yagbon Radio, the Assembly Member for Kunfugsi Electoral Area Hon. Goerge Sobiitey said ”the project that is being launched in Yerikoi will go a long way by promoting education and development and for that matter they willing to support CCOD and Jaksally in realising its dream of community development”.
