
The 2025 Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) Science and Maths Quiz competition was held at the Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge in Bole the Savannah Region with Cocoa Research Institute JHS emerged as champions.
The Paramount chief of Bole traditional area Yiram Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge feso (I) speaking at the grand finale of the quiz noted that the national Science and maths quiz were considered to be very difficult subjects, but the Kutuge Feso quiz has demystified it and made it easy for students and also engendered interest in the subjects.
The Paramount Chief emphasized that this quiz pop up students in the basic level to take education seriously, he also expressed his profound gratitude to teachers and organization of the program for making it a successful one.
The Deputy Director Supervision GES Bole Hon. Jamani Bakeri in his opening remarks urged that the competition is not just for winning but a platform for learning, he noted the need and how far this quiz supports education in the Bole traditional area.
Speaking at the ceremony the Mp for Bole- Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana Ori who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources stated the President of Ghana John Mahama appreciate Bolewura in whatever he is doing in the area of education.
He urged the teachers to continue to empower and also guide the students in their education.
Contesting for the competition were two students each representing their various schools.
Gariba Zuleha and Yakubu Hidaya representing St kizito B JHS, Fuseini Rahima and Vifa Edem Wendy representing Sawla Girls Model JHS and Marchin Liborcheln Grace and Kumah Joy representing Cocoa Research Institute JHS.
The quiz was organized in three rounds with Cocoa Research Institute JHS emerging as winners with 52 points,Sawla Girls model JHS with 48 points and finally St Kizito’s B JHS with 33 points.
The winning school were given an award of Hp laptop computer,100 customized exercise books,500 pens ,100 mathematical sets,T-shirts and a cash price of GHC 5,000.
Sawla Girls model JHS taking the second position with 60 customized exercise books,60 mathematical sets,150 pens ,T-shirts and a cash price of GHC 3,000 and finally St kizito’s JHS taking the third position with exercise books, 50 pens,10 mathematical set, T-shirts and a cash price of GHC 2,000.
Also,Kumah Joy, a pupil of Cocoa Research Institute JHS and a contestant received an award of GHC 2,000 for emerging as the outstanding student ,other Dignitaries from GES and Staff of the various school also received citations and awards for their outstanding performance in their area of service.
The ceremony was grace by the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional area Yiram Sarfo Kutuge feso (I) ,Chiefs and Queen mothers,the Mp and Deputy Minister of Land and Natural Resources, Dignitaries from GES, teachers and students from the representing schools.
