An impasse that erupted between residents of Mempeasem number one and the Bob Figures Methodist Church in Bole last year has been amicably resolved by a committee set up by the paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area to look into the matter and to draw peaceful conclusions on the issue.

At a consultative dialogue held at the palace of Bolewura on May 19, 2021, the nine member committee chaired by Mankuma Wura Saaka Wayo came up with the following conclusions, that;

a.  The church is free to construct a fence wall at its own convenience without any interference.

b.  The committee also advised the church to give off 30ft piece of land to create access to road entry into Mempeasem number one community in the interest of peace.

c.  The church through very Rev. Philip Mintah agreed in this regard a total of 70ft distance is here by reserved between the Catholic Church fence wall and the Methodist Church as an access road.

d. The committee through the District Engineer, Mr Yaw Kwamena Akenteng recommended that all unauthorized temporal structures on the access road be removed; the management of the Bole District Assembly via an official letter shall state the time line for the removal of the unauthorized temporal structures on the said access road road entry into Mempeasem number one community.

The committee report signed by Kiyigbon- ase Wura D.E Mahama, Vice Chairman of the committee concludes that any attempt by any religious organization or group of persons to drag the good name of the Bole Traditional Council under the leadership of Bolewura Sarfo Kutugefeso (l), into mud is not only xenophobic but unfortunate.

Read below the Bolewura committee report.
