The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area of Gonja, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso I, has called on the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to establish a Divisional Police Command in Bole in the Savannah Region to help fight criminal activities in the area.

The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area of Gonja commended the security services and the community members for fighting crime, especially kidnapping and robberies among others in recent times.

Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso I gave the assurance that the Traditional Council is ever ready to support the Ghana Police Service to fight criminal activities in the area.

This was made known when the IGP paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief at his palace on Monday, May 29, 2023.

The IGP and some members of the police management board are touring the Savanna and Northern Regions to touch base with police personnel in those Regions to listen to their concerns on first hand basis.

Bolewura welcoming the IGP and his entourage expressed gratitude to the IGP stressing that Dampare’s administration if not anything at all it has brought calm in the Bole Traditional Area.

Bolewura mentioned that happenings like armed robbery has become something of the past, illegal killings which used to be rampant in this area has stopped due to the phycologists surrounding your administration.

“Bole used to be in the news all the time of illegal killings and burying but since Mr. Dampare took over in the service we sit and see your entourage passing to and fro and people will say this is the IGP going and that alone has reduced criminalities and not alone the policies you have adopted” he said.

The Chief also made a passionate appeal to Dampare to get a police training depot in Bole, as he is prepared to release land for such project to help the teeming school leavers to get recruited into the police service which will help reduce unemployment in the area.

The IGP speaking at Bolewura’s palace said the police service must have a demand driven mind set and not a supply driven mind set.

“So we have have come to seek the blessing of Bolewura to deepen this new concept of policing in his kingdom within the hearts and minds of his people so that together we will make the kingdom attractive, make the Region attractive and make Ghana attractive “he noted.

Responding to the Bolewura’s appeal the IGP promise him that within seven days he will get what he has requested for and that is the Divisional Police Command.
