The Member of Parliament for the Bole – Bamboi Constituency in the Savannah Region, Hon.Yusif Sulemana , has donated four motorbikes and fifteen hospital bed mattresses to the Health Directorate in the Constituency to support health delivery.
The motorbikes will go to Bale, Kojuwmaa, and Kui CHPS Compounds, with one stationed at the office of the directorate,he said.
The mattresses will be delivered to the Bamboi Polyclinic.
The MP, who is the Ranking Member of the Trades and Industry Committee of Parliament and also a member of the Public Accounts Committee explained the donation will go a long to improving health care delivery in the area.
According to Hon.Yusif , there is the need to improve the quality of life for the people in the constituency through community-focused care that enhances healthcare services.
He was hopeful the gesture will improve access to preventive health care services.
He noted that the motorbikes will enable health workers to deliver timely quality health service in the district, adding that, with the assistant of the motorbikes, health workers will now reach the remoted part of the District.
He noted that health workers face so many challenges but very optimistic that some of the major challenges facing the Health sector will be tackled.
The Bole – Bamboi MP hinted that, he has prioritized health and education as part his development agenda for the constituency, adding that, a lot of development in the health sector is going to bring a quality healthcare service to the people.
The legislator said, the health sector is facing several challenges, however, the donation of the motorbikes is one the interventions to mitigate the challenges the District health directorate is facing. “We will continue to collaborate with the health directorate to meet some of their challenges”.
The Bole District Health Director, Hajia Ndapewurche Fuseina Sulemana, who was so elated thanked the MP for the donation and pledged that the motorbikes will be used for the purpose been given.
She said the motorbikes will be distributed to 3 health facilities with one at the office to enhance their works.
