The Assembly man for Mankuma Electoral Area, Hon Thompson Abu has told Yagbon radio that a Fulani man residing at Sekonokoraa in the Bole District was allegedly kidnapped by two fellow Fulani men.

The Assembly man narrated on Yagbon radio morning show on September 7, 2021, that his unit commitee chairman Mr Ibrahim came to him with some two fulani men who identified themselves as
Shaibu Addo and Alhaji Musah Seidu.

He told Yagbon radio that according to the Fulani men their relative seidu Alaih and his wife were in the house when the kidnappers came to the house at Sekonokoraa and kidnapped the victim and locked the wife in the room which she managed to open and quickly reported to a brother of the victim.

They traced and found motor bikes of the culprits in Chanchire and quickly reported to police and the case is currently under investigation by the police and the National Investigation Bureau.

Hon. Thompson urged the public to assist the police with relevant information to arrest the culprits.

He however lamented the way Ghana is taking the ECOWAS protocol for granted and said is disturbing and citing Cote d’ voire as an example that despite this protocol they are still very strict as to who goes in and come out of the country.

He also said chiefs and duty bearers have not lived up to expectations in managing foreigners in the country adding that we have no data as to the number of fulanis in this area.

They just come meet a chief and settle, then invite their relatives to join them without any proper process of entry,he noted.

He called on chiefs and the Immigration to be up to task on how these foreigners settle in our various communities.

He also called on residents to take interest in observing strange people in our communities to be able to easily fish out people with ill- intended minds.

Hon Thompson said is alleged that armed robbery is no more lucrative to them and for that matter they come after their colleagues who has a lot of cattles.
