The Bole District Health Directorate has on Wednesday 28th February, 2024, held an annual performance review for the year 2023 in Bole District of the Savannah region.
The Bole District Director of Health Services, Gbansiga Ndapewurche Hajia Fuseina Sulemana in her welcome address mentioned that, they have made a significant strides in reducing maternal mortality from 2022 to 2023 within the District from 3 to 0
The Director added that, through targeted interventions such as improved access to prenatal care, enhanced emergency obstetric services, and community health education initiatives, we have witnessed a commendable decline in this undoubtedly saved numerous lives and strengthen the fabric of our district.
Ndapewurche Hajia Fusheina, again stressed that the Directorate have made a significant progress in promoting preventive healthcare practices and addressing non-communicable diseases, by prioritizing health education, encouraging lifestyle modifications, and facilitating access to screening services through the wellness clinic initiative we are empowering individuals to take charge of their health and well-being.
The District Health Director mentioned some challenges facing the health Directorate, which she mentioned the lack of a permanent office structure for the District Health Directorate, Funding constraints and Inefficient resources allocation, non-functional mortuary, an erratic supply of rapid diagnostic test kits, inadequate drugs and logistics, inadequate staff accommodation etc.
Hajia Fuseina Sulemana said “let us remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence, innovation, and equity in health delivery. Together we will continue to build upon our achievement, address emerging challenges, and strive towards a healthier, more resilient community for all” she said.
