A baby suspected to be just a day old has miraculously survived after being thrown into the toilet at Nangom, a suburb of Nkrankwanta, the capital of the Dormaa-West District in the Bono Region.

The baby, who was soaked in the infested toilet was rescued and sent to the Dormaa-West District Hospital for medical attention.

The Assemblyman for the Asuopiri Central Electoral Area Hon. Yussif Issah, poupularly known as KBY, who was an eyewitness and part of the rescue team told Yagbon News, the baby’s survival was “a very serious spiritual intervention.”

He narrated the incident saying, “if you were at the scene, you would see how the baby body was completely covered with faeces from the pit.

“You would see that because the baby had been left there in the heat his body had become reddish”, he told Yagbon News.

According to Hon. Issah, a young lady who went to the public latrine to ease herself Monday afternoon where the baby had been abandoned in the toilet discovered the baby.

The baby started crying as she enters the toilet to empty her bowels. She then rushed to report her discovery to the elders who in turn informed the Assemblyman to rescue the baby.

Hon. Issah, expressed optimism that he would survive since, according to him, the baby appeared lively and healthy as reported by hospital officials.

He said the hospital officials indicated that the baby was healthy after examining him critically and administering the necessary vaccinations.

According to him, the police had since visited the scene and requested the public to assist the police with relevant information to find the baby’s biological mother.
