Pure Trust Foundation with funding from Vibrant Village has completed and commissioned a three unit teacher’s quarters for Abasumakura community and its environs.
The completed structures will serve Abasumakura, Ntereso, Abaara among other communitie in the south western part of Bole District to the Ivorian border.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Abasumakura and adjoining communities in a ceremony to commission the the facilities, a staff of Pure Trust on behalf of the Executive Director described the commissioning as a significant journey in promoting quality education as a contribution to the SDGs goal 4.
Pure Trust expressed their gratitude to the community during the construction of of the teachers quarters for their support.
In an appeal, pure Trust suggested that government should consider building a six unit classroom for the primary school and convert the existing three unit classroom to a JHS including ICT lab.
The Regional Partnership Director of Vibrant Village foundation for West Africa Mr Osman Mohammed said the organisation has it headquarters in USA and working in 13 countries worldwide including Southern , Eastern and West Africa.
Mr Osman said their core mandate is to provide grant to other organisations to execute project and capacity building for partner organisation and 16 organisations in West Africa and 8 are in Ghana including Pure Trust .
The Regional Director expresses his satisfaction over the manner in which Pure Trust utilizes resources given to them including the teachers quarters and assured them of a continuous relationship.
He admonished the teachers to use the opportunity to train the children by identifying their needs adding that quality time with students is the best way to foster teaching in schools for that matter the teachers should use the opportunity to spend quality time with the students.
The Director however said most at time government priotizes building schools but don’t consider the teachers welfare which he said is affecting teaching and learning so it was against this backdrop that he accepted the proposal to sponser the project.
Addressing the media the Chief Executive Director for Pure Trust, Mr Habib Haruna said the project become necessary during the construction of a mini processing facility in Ntereso.
According to the Executive Director school children loiter around and they found out that the school does not have teachers as a result of acomodation challenges and that the only teacher sleeps in the office.
The challenge led to the implementation of several projects including provision of water, textbooks among others including the teachers quarters .
He said the project is in phases and the teachers quarters is phase one and the rest will be behavior change and teachers capacity building .
The facility is a three unit teachers quarters with a porch, bedroom, kitchen, bath and toilet.
