The Nursing and Midwifery Training College at Bole in the Savannah Region has held its eleventh(11th) matriculation ceremony to welcome 214 new students into the 2022/2023 academic year, who joined its registered public health nursing, registered nurse assistant preventive and post NAC/NAP midwifery programs.
In a welcome address to induct the students into the health institution the principal of the school Alhaji Harunah Tirah, said the students should count themselves as lucky to be admitted to the school
The experienced health practitioner warned the students against occultism among other vices in the school and the consequences if caught will be to expel such students.
He said this is first matriculation in the school and will do anything in his power to give the institution a further face lift adding that currently there is a document with the Bole District Chief Executive for clearance and authority to begin another new path in development of the school in his era.
He said students will not be allowed to write exam without full payment of their fee alluding this to the fact that student take advantage of the fee paying regulation not to pay fees which is affecting the development of the school.
The Bole District Director of Health Services, Queen mother Sulemana Fuseina said nurses under training should take their practical serious.
The experienced midwife said they should abide by the oath and be nice to their clients in the hospitals saying the attitude of the nurses affect the health of their client and therefore encouraged them not to be discriminatory.
The medical supretendent for Bole District Hospital, Dr Nindow Alphonsus said the nursing profession is a nobble one and hence they should be seen a such.
The medical doctor said they are the chosen ones and that is for a purpose in the lives of Ghanaian adding that they have chosen to save people’s lives in Ghana.
The District Chief Executive for Bole District, Hon Veronica alele Hemeng, said they are brave to be here and they should hold on to that bravery in their duty to save lives
she said she prays she comes back to to see all of them graduate with flying colours.
she admitted that there is a document on her desk about the school and promise the students and the principal that she will everything in her capacity to see the success of that vision for the school.
She announced her satisfaction on the relationship between her and the MP for Bole-Bamboi especially on matters of the school and promise that on this one they will not fail.
Mr Samuel Gonsob, who spoke on behalf of the MP for Bole-Bamboi said Hon. Sulemana Yusif sent his greeting from parliament but not for crucial bills in Parliament today, the legislature would have been here.
Gonsob on the MPs behalf called for discipline among the students for their own academic success and promise to always support the school any time they need him.
