The Bole District Health Directorate has held its 2022 annual performance review with various stakeholders in the health sector to access it’s strengths and weaknesses.
The review is usually done every year to access progress of health delivery, challenges and way forward on critical areas in every jurisdiction.
Various sectors and health facilities presented the performance for the year including strategy, limitations and progress.
Addressing the stakeholders the District Health Director said the year has being a good year but cannot say without challenges.
She expressed her sadness on three maternal death in the District recorded in the year under review.
She said some programs have been executed as preventive measures including free medical screening and treatment, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling among others.
The District also expressed gratitude to some NGO’s for supporting them including Zakat Foundation, NEA, among others.
According to her, the District is currently battling with measles and there are no vaccines.
She lamented about the District Health Directorate space office which cannot contain more staff as a challenge.
kKwame Kwesi, Kakiase, Sakpa among other health facilities needs rehabilitation, she noted.
She said currently the Bole District hospital which double as Savannah Regional Hospital, the mortuary is not in use which is not good because the hospital is on a high road.
The Director pleaded with the Assembly to assist upgrade Mankuma and Banda-Nkwanta health facilities to be able serve the increasing residents in those areas.
