Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy emerged as the overall champions in the 11th edition of the Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Gala co-hosted by Dabouyiri and Gbogdaa.

The fast growing newly formed Gbogdaa club which was competing in only their third competition successfully defended the under 13 girls’ trophy they won at Mankuma and won the boys’ trophy of the same category as well by beating Mandari Ball Busters and Seripe Mighty Fingers respectively.

Meanwhile, at the under 15 category, Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy capitalised on the absence of the undisputed champions Simariyiri Volleyball Club to lift their first under 15 girls trophy. Having won three of the four available trophies Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy took home the overall champions gigantic trophy as well.

The boys’ category Seripe Mighty Fingers Volleyball Club characteristically defended their trophy for the 7th consecutive time.

The now 8 times champions defeated Mandari Ball Busters who re-enforced their team with star players of Maluwe Volleyball club by 2 straight sets.

The mighty fingers despite being without powerful attackers Ahmed and Yussif as well as utility player Zakaria looked outstandingly extraordinary in the tournament.

Bakari Achito was overwhelmingly adjudged as the the under 15 boys most valuable player as he confirmed his status as the star player of not only Seripe Mighty Fingers Volleyball club but the Bole District Juvenile Volleyball.

His name was proclaimed by the enthusiastic teaming fans gathered at premises of Gbogdaa Methodist Basic School for the closing ceremony.

Rahinatu Alhassan, stand in captain of the depleted Seripe Mighty Fingers Girls team was adjudged under 15 girls best player for her effort in leading her team in thier defeat in the finals to Gbogdaa.

Unsurprisingly, Victoria Naah Kwesi, the captain of both under 13 and under 15 teams of Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy took him the most valuable under 13 player accolade whiles Dapitey Kofi won the best under 13 boys player beating Salia Kassim of Seripe to it.

First time participants Kilampobile Volleyball Club was given the fair play award.

In all six clubs from Seripe, Kilampobile, Mandari, Dabouyiri, Gbogdaa and Mankuma took part.

The tournament will next be held in June at a yet to be confirmed venue due to the inability of Maluwe to appear at Gbogdaa.
