A Special Aid to the DCE for North Gonja District in the Savannah Region, Mr Abubakari Ridwan, has said that, the wide spread speculation that the NPP government has neglected the construction of the Daboya bridge cannot be true.

He said no Government since 1960 has ever made an attempt to construct the bridge till the regime of the Nana Akuffo-Addo led administration which gave hope to the people in the area.

He disclosed this on Yagbon Radio morning show “Tea cup” with Diwura Abdul-Fataw, on Wednesday, August,11, 2021.

His reaction comes a response to speculations that a section of residents in the area have expressed disappoinment of the NPP government for failing to begin on the construction of the Daboya bridge.

According to Mr Ridwan such speculations are not of the views of the people of North Gonja but the views of Mr Mahama Shaibu, a former Member of Parliament in the area who want to derail the effort of government in the construction of Daboya bridge.

Mr Ridwam who is a Special Aid to the North Gonja DCE said in a project construction, it is a chain of processes for which construction of infrastructure is the last stage.

He said it starts from consultations, drawing, evaluation, feasiblity studies among others.

Mr Ridwan said currently under this government three bridges are under evaluation to be constructed namely Daboya, Buipe and Yapei.

He said since Busia was ousted by a military coup the project was neglected and our brother H E John Mahama became president with a lot of expectation but nothing happen for eight years on the matter of the bridge.

He assured the people of Savannah Region that all is set for construction hopefully by November 2021, as there was a meeting between the contractor and stakeholders including the DCE to allocate land for them to camp during the construction period.

Mr Ridwan said what ever NPP government pledged will deliver citing the creation of Savannah Region as an example.

” Those opinions were expressed by the former Member of Parliament, Mr Mahama Shaibu, parties that win power but does nothing for the people should not be voted for”, he added.
