The Bole Health Directorate has launched the distribution of the Long Lasting Insecticides Net (LLIN) to households in the Bole District.
The exercise which forms part of the Point Mass Distribution (PMD) campaign will be starting on Wednesday, April 07, with the registration of households that is expected to end on April 13.
Speaking to stakeholders on 6th April, 2021, on the upcoming activity, the Bole District Director of Health Services, Mr. David Bakuri, urged households within the District to ensure they were registered to receive their nets during the distributions.
He said it was important for people to participate in the registration as it would reflect the number of nets to be distributed.
Mr David explained that after registration, a code would be given to households to indicate the number of nets that a household would receive during the distribution and stressed that “no registration, no net”.
“Any National ID, head of the household, contact of the household head are the basic requirements that a registration assistant will demand from a household, this is as simple as that and therefore ask all households to take note of the dates for registration and be available for the exercise,” he explained.
“We are therefore appealing to all households to give access to registration assistants who would come around to help with the registration,” he stressed.
Mr. David said, the directorate was working hard to reduce malaria cases drastically and that the LLIN would go a long way to achieve that goal.
Mr Nketiah Anderson, the District Health Promotion Officer, who gave an overview of the PMD Campaign 2021 said they had trained registration assistants to ensure a smooth exercise.
He added that, they also had stakeholder meetings, planning meetings and social and behaviour change communication to prepare for the task ahead.
Mr Anderson said they were committed to ensuring that all households in the District receive the nets to protect the residents against malaria.
