The Savannah Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Mahama Zakaria, together with his deputies, has joined several colleagues from across the country at the NADMO Headquarters in Accra for a comprehensive leadership training programme organized by the national secretariat.
The training, which brings together regional and district directors, aims to strengthen leadership capacity, enhance coordination, and promote effective disaster management strategies across all regions of Ghana. Participants are engaging in practical sessions focused on leadership development, emergency response planning, and inter-agency collaboration.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Zakaria emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building in achieving NADMO’s mandate of safeguarding lives and property.
Leadership in disaster management requires constant learning and adaptation. This training is an excellent opportunity to refine our strategies and ensure we are fully prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies,” he noted.
The programme also serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, where regional heads exchange experiences and best practices to improve service delivery in their respective jurisdictions.
NADMO’s commitment to professional development demonstrates its dedication to building a resilient and responsive national disaster management system, one that is proactive rather than reactive.
