54 – year- old widow receives donations after threatening to commit suicide over her stolen fowl.

A 54 – year- old widow who threatened taken her own life over her stolen fowl two weeks ago only identified as Jaabar from Taar, a farming community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region, has received a considerable amount of gifts from individuals and a group.

The widow was seen in a viral video wailing, explaining and questioning about her ordeal. She said “all the times my fowls are stolen, now my very last one is again taken, what am I going to do, is better I kill my self”.

The Birifor Youth Association, Bole Branch, under the leadership of Mr Dari Peter Naawminkuma, after the incident started mobilizing funds in support. Other individuals outside the group who were touched by her cry, notably Hon. Dinona Saaka, AKA Vasco, Former Assemblyman for Mandari Electoral Area in the Bole District area gave her a nanny goat.

The Former Assemblyman did that through the leadership of the Association.

The leadership on 16th December 2021, presented an amount of ghc.255.00 and the goat to the widow through the assembly man for the area, Hon. Samuel Jorwatey, in Sawla.

Madam Jaabar, thanked the team for the kind gestures. She was however surprised how that was brought to the attention of the public. She promised to utilize the resources well.

Hon. Samuel, who was unaware of the development until the association contacted him, also thanked every hand that supported his sister.

He however lamented on how issues of theft is on the rise in his electoral area, especially Taar.

He vowed and promised to bring to, if not an end but reduce the rate of stilling in the area. Adding that “henceforth I am going to intensify my fight. I will make sure every suspected criminal is investigated, sent to court and possibly jailed. Even if you steal an egg, the law must take its cause.

Hon. Dinonah in an exclusive interview said he felt sorry for what happened to an old lady like this, after he saw the publication on social media.

According to him, this is coming from his heart but nothing else, though he doesn’t know her personally.
