The Vagla Youth Association VAYA on behalf of its members, chiefs and elders of all VAYA member communities has through a press statement signed by the association president Mr Emmanuel Kungi congratulated Mr. Benard Gbolo from Soma for winning the best national agro-forestry farmer at the 2021 national best farmers award.
Mr. Benard Gbolo was awarded at the colourful ceremony in Cape Coast.
The Association views the recognition of Mr. Gbolo who is the assembly member for the Soma electoral area as an honour to communities, in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District in particular and indeed the entire Savannah region at large,the press statement added.
“We wish to use this opportunity to encourage all farmers in our communities especially the youth to keep up the good works and intensify same to bring more of such awads to our area”, the youth association indicated through the press statement.
They also called on the government to continue to institute measures to make farming more attractive business venture so as to attract more Ghanaian youth into it as a means to addressing the menace of youth unemployment challenges faced by the country.
The association hopes that Mr Gbolo will see this award as an opportunity to leapfrog many farmers across the country and become an overall national best farmer within the next few years.
