The Sawla -Tuna-Kalba District Office of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has organised a peace walk at Tuna to draw attention to the need for political accommodation as the nation inch towards December 7 polls.
The event, took place on Monday 25th November 2024, with participants marching through the principal streets of Tuna, starting from the police station.
Speaking at the event the District Director for NCCE Mr Issahaku Losina stated that the peace walk is the continuation of the activities this year as NCCE to ensure that we promote peace and none- violence in sawla.
The Director added that, that’s why they have organized a peace walk and so they expect each and everyone to be peaceful and make sure that this year the should not be violence.
“The violence is always perpetuated by the youth and so am urging all of you that you shouldn’t kill yourself for political party”
Mr. Losina noted that as we prepare for the December 7 elections, we urge all citizens to make a conscious choice to choose peace and let us reject violence, misinformation, and divisiveness.
So tet us work together to promote peace and unity in our community.
The NCCE organized the peace walk to promote unity and peace among political party players in the constituency.
