Member of Parliament for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, and some other Ghanaian Parliamentarians from Ghana’s Parliamentary Select Committee on Housing has embarked on a working visit to Kelsterbach Town Hall in Germany over the weekends.
The purpose of the voyage was for Ghana to find out how the country could make strides on integrated and sustainable urban development.
The Ghanaian delegation was led by the Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim North, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi and comprised of; Member of Parliament (MP) for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, MP for Dormaa-West, Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, MP for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, MP for Binduri, Hon. Abdulai Abanga who doubles as Deputy Minister for Works And Housing.
Ghana’s entourage was composed also of Managing Director of Ghanaian Construction Company High Brains, Dr John Kissi Barimah Addofo, as an adviser to the delegation, Managing Director of Steel Trading Company Midwest Mr Mike Twum Barimah.
The working summit was organized by the Deputy Chairman for Three-in-a-row Association, Xuejun Pei. The West African delegates first toured Nassauische Heimstätte Project Stadt in Frankfurt to learn about integrated and sustainable urban development.
They also visited some facilities in Frankfurt City Drainage such as the Sewage Treatment Plant in Niederrad and the Logistics Center for Cargo Movers GmbH in Ruesselsheim.
Nevertheless, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi et’al entered the city’s guest book through the Mainhöhe District. They were educated on Mainhöhe when they visited the NH ProjektStadt.
The West Africa team had the opportunity to tour the working sites of Kelsterbach Urban Development Project in Germany.
The two countries delegation finally met at Rhein-Main Innovation Center in Raunheim for more discussions on how Ghana could partner Germany on urbanization.
