Hon. Saeed Muazu Jibril, the Savannah Regional Minister has paid a familiarization tour to Babato farming company in the Bole District to get first hand information on their activities.
He was accompanied by all two Municipal Chief Executives and five District Chief Executives in the Savannah Region.
The Babato Farming Company was established in 2016 by the Africa Agriculture Development Company (AgDevCo) a UK company aimed at building an agricultural hub in this part of the country for potential investors in the agricultural sector Which is currently taken over by OVAPACK Ghana a subsidiary of Ghana nuts.
The farm is 10 000 hector square but currently utilizing 1000 Hector’s.
Addressing the media, the Regional Minister described the project as the biggest investment in Savannah region of currently.
He said, government will do its part by supporting the their activities leading to it’s growth.
He however pledged to support them in the construction of the road sector which he said is already on course and also assured them of connecting them to the national grid as polls and cables are ready and will meet the energy ministry to complete the project.
As a result of the competition between upper west on maize production he said he will help them to get other investors to utilize the land to beef up production of maize make us a maize hub in the Region.
He also said he will link them to the buffer stock to create a ready market.
On his way back the two major communities on the stretch between Bamboi and Babato Chibirnyuah (Kilampo) and Bampewa stopped the minister to poor out theiy frustration on water, education and electricity.
The minister assured them of a follow up on the various issues at the various ministries.
He promised them of a familiarization tour to the area where they can have broader discussion on their challenges in the Savannah Region.
