Nyange based Juvenile team, future stars were crowned champions of the 2020 Sawla -Tuna- Kalba District Football Association Juvenile GALA which was held at the Sawla D/A Junior High school park on Sunday, 15th March, 2020.
Future stars beat Taare babies 2-0 to emerge winner of the GALA. Coming into the match, the young starlets were hot favorites to win haven’t been the most organized and consistent Juvenile club in the District. Per records Future stars were the best team in the GALA and conceded no goal throughout the GALA.
Future stars is one of the 3rd Division team in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District also preparing to play the juvenile league for the first time this year.
The team’s 2 wins and 2 draws were enough to crown them champions of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba 63rd Independence Gala Champions. They beat Nasco Academy, Young Starlets, Taare Babies and Jentilpe Young Chelsea who finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.
Anbara Amos, captain of the team scored three of the team’s 5 goals to finish as top Scorer and player of the tournament.
The DFA Chairman MR RAHMAN thanked the teams and encouraged them to take their football seriously. He added the Gala is an awareness creation to the upcoming league.
The Juvenile football league was to kick off this March 20, 2020 but has also been suspended per the announcement given by GFA to suspend all football competition due to the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo directives. The Association will continue to engage the relevant institutions on this matter and update its members and all stakeholders of any changes.
