Some youth numbering about 8 , said to be members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has attacked the Aide to the DCE of the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba District in the Savannah region.

Narrating the incident to Yagbon News, Mr Kipo Isaac, the Aide to the DCE, said he was in a company with the DCE in his vehicle when they were accosted by the young men at a junction in Sawla town.

According to him the boys stopped the DCE vehicle and without any confrontation pulled him out of the vehicle and beat him up mercilessly.

At first 3 of the boys appeared and 5 later joined and they really beat me up, Mr Kipo told Yagbon News.

When quizzed whether the DCE too was beaten, Mr Kipo said he believes so because the DCE lost his phone during the encounter.

I also lost my mobile phone and 3,000 Ghana cedis .

I was admitted at the hospital for 3 days, Mr Kipo narrated in a worried voice.

According to Mr. Kipo he was able to identify 5 of the boys who assaulted him and subsequently lodged a complaint at the Sawla police station.

Mr Kipo said the police never invited the culprits for investigation since reporting the incident to them and he is considering going to the law court for better explanation of the matter.
And in a related development the Communication and Research team of the NDC for STK has issued a release sympathising with the DCE, Hon. Lawal Tamimu for the verbal attack and subsequent assault he escaped.

We condemned the act and wish his special assistant Mr. Kipo Isaac a speedy recovery who was seriously beaten and survived a mob attack.

“ATTACK ON HON. LAWAL TAMIMU” : DCE FOR SAWLA-TUNA-KALBA DISTRICT, SAVANNAH REGION

The communication and research team of the NDC for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba sympathizes with the DCE for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Hon. Lawal Tamimu for the verbal attack and subsequent assault he escaped. We condemned the act and wish his special assistant, Mr. Kipo Isaac ( Baba) a speedy recovery who was seriously beaten and survived a mob attack.

Had it not been for the smartness and fastness of Hon. Tamimu, he would have been beaten.
The NDC has learned with deep shock the mob attack that nearly claimed the lives of the DCE and his Special Aide and equally wish to condemn the act and other similar attacks across the region in recent times. The NDC further reiterates that the people of STK are law abiding citizens who love peace and it is imperative that every material time, the NPP and its surrogates use the rules of law in addressing their disagreements rather than resorting to violent approach.

Poly tanks that were supposed to be mounted at public markets were wrongly placed which angered the market women, youth groups and some traditional authorities.

We are appealing to the DCE to settle the matter with the market women groups.

We however wish to appeal to the DCE to respect our traditional authorities, groups and associations.

In 2019, during the Damba festival at Kong on 23rd November, Hon. Lawal Tamimu issued a cheque amounting to One Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵1,000.00) which turned out to be a bounced one when he was later invited by Kongwura Yiram Adamu Seidu Jinkurige (1) he refused to honour the invitation.

Even though, we sympathize with the DCE, we still maintain it is his endorsement of lawlessness that is breeding violence within Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District. It was Hon. Tamimu who led a team of hooligans to attack the Sawla Police Station in July, 2018.

Also, during the Biennial Congress of the Vagla Youth Association ( VAYA), at Bole in 2018, Hon. Tamimu promised VAYA an amount of One Thousand Ghana Cedis ( GH₵1,000.00) which he never fulfilled.

We wish to remind the DCE of another bounced check he issued during the 40th Anniversary celebration of the Good Shepherd Catholic church of Tuna in 2019.

The youth of late are intoxicated like homemade wine, and I wish to remind the DCE for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba to respect them.

Thank you
