A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Marie Stopes, has today July 14, 2020 donated some Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs) to the Sawla Maternity Health Clinic in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The Clinic is part of 85 other private health facilities which benefited from this kind gesture across the country from the NGO.
The items included; two boxes of liquid soap, two boxes of hand sanitizer, 50 nose masks and packs of tissues.
Speaking to Yagbon News on the sideline, the Development Officer of BlueStar Business, Mr. Abdul-Latif Yakubu, said the Organization has been working with the health facility closed to five years, and for that matter in times of difficulties like this, they deemed it necessary to come to their aid.
“We have been working hand in hand with them as partners in providing Sexual Reproductive Health to people around Sawla. In the times of covid, when things are difficult, we have to also come and support them, both themselves and their clients”.
Adding that the NGO is rebranding a sustainable model, so that in their absence, the facilities can sustain themselves.
The Manager of the facility who spoke on behalf of the director, Mr. Mahama Zakaria thanked the NGO for their usual kind gestures.” We are always grateful for their support, they have supported us in various ways, last they supported us with sterilizers, we are very much grateful and hoping that we get more support to enable us deliver our services efficiently”, Zakaria said.
