A General Secretary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Iddrisu Musah affectionately called Superior, has called on delegates attending the National NPP conference to elect competent and honest people to manage the affairs of the party for the next four years.

He said the Party requires new direction, new energy, fresh ideas and superior mobilsation strategy to revive the ideals of the party.

Musah Superior made this known after meeting with Constituency executives of Bole- Bamboi as he embarked on a tour in the Savannah Region.

Describing the 2024 elections as the most crucial, he said the NPP requires leaders who will unite them, make them strong, motivate them and provide a strategic plan to widen their base so that they can prepare well for the 2024 elections.

He also justified the government’s decision to seek assistance from the International Monetary Fund as it looks for a path of economic recovery.

According to him, the tenure of the Akufo-Addo led administration has been confronted with a global crisis, such as Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia- Ukraine war, however, same cannot be said for the John Dramani Mahama led NDC administration.

The former Tamale mayor indicated that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are better managers of the local economy than the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He called on delegates of the party to vote massively for him to win the General Secretary position of the party to help improve the structures and foundations of the party ahead of elections 2024.

Six candidates are battling for the General Secretary position of the party.

They include; John Boadu, Musah Iddrisu, Ramseyer Ahmed Agyeman – Prempeh, Charles Bissue, Frederick Opare Ansah and Justin Kodua Frimpong.

The party will hold its national annual delegates conference at the Accra Sports Stadium from Friday, July 15 to July 17, 2022, to elect new National Executive Officers of the party.
