The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency Lawmaker, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey on Wednesday toured the affected areas of the Yipala rainstorm disaster to assess the extent of damage and also to sympathize with victims.

The storm inflicted severe damage to property, including the roofing of numerous houses, the Chief’s Palace, and the CHPS compound.

Tragically, a life was lost when a man seeking shelter under a tree in his house succumbed to the storm’s fury.

In response to the calamity, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, the Member of Parliament for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, promptly visited Yipala community to assess the situation first-hand for the necessary action.

During his visit, Hon. Chiwitey observed the widespread destruction caused by the windstorm. The sight of damaged homes underscored the urgency of the situation.

He extended his condolence to the family of the deceased, acknowledging the profound loss experienced by the community.

The visit to Yipala community following the devastating windstorm exemplifies his commitment to serving the constituents of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba.

Through his swift response and concerted efforts to provide relief and support, Hon. Chiwitey has demonstrated leadership and solidarity with the affected residents during their time of need.

As the community begins the process of rebuilding, Hon Chiwitey said it is imperative that collective efforts are sustained to ensure their full recovery and resilience in the face of future challenges.

Hon Chiwitey was in the company of the Presiding Member, District Coordinating Director, the District police commander, the constituency vice chairman of NDC and other executives.
