The Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, has supported the Yarkoi community with 30 bags of cement to complete a JHS classroom block project it has initiated.

Speaking to the media at the Yarkoi Youth Association annual festival, he said he considered it necessary to support the project started by the community to address the educational concerns in the area.

He also assured the community of his continuous support every step of the way until the facility is completed and furnished for use.

The MP pledged to work closely with stakeholders to improve the standards of education in the area.

He maintained that human development through education remains a priority and efforts are being made to ensure such a target was met.

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba MP said it was imperative to support the future leaders of Ghana through the provision of basic needs that will enhance teaching and learning.

While commending the community members for their solidarity and unity towards this common goal, the MP entreated other communities in the Constituency to take a cue from the Yarkoi community to come together and always unionized towards undertaking community-based projects to address certain challenges confronting them.

Reacting to the gesture, the President of YEMYA expressed his excitement and gratitude to the MP to augment their efforts to put up a JHS classroom block to address the educational needs of his people.

The Yarkoi community was granted the opportunity by the Ghana Education Service to start operating a Junior High School in their community due to the long distance pupils has to travel to access education.
