A 30 -year-old Banuda John on Monday night allegedly ‘stoned’ his mother, Banuda Yibilena Rebecca several times on the head killing her in the process.

Hon.Sabo Bismark, a resident and former Asemblyman for the Kanchen Electoral Area in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District reports to Yagbon News that residents of Gindabuo, where the incident happened, were so horrified by the incident.

According to him the deceased brought her son from Nabel, who is said to be an epileptic patient to a prayer camp for God intervention of his condition.

He narrated that the suspect woke up late in the night and informed the mother now deceased that he was going to his hometown ( Nabel), which the mother resisted saying the time was odd for him to embark on such a long journey.

He said while they were still persuading him to rescind his decision to stay at Gindabuo for the next day he felt unconscious in the process and later woke up becoming very violent.

Hon Sabo said that he was not equally spared beatings from the suspect but later got himself freed when the suspect felt down.

“He later turned his anger on the mother whom he chased till she felt on the ground and he used three stones to smashed her head”, Hon. Sabo told Yagbon News.

It is still not clear what caused John to commit the offence and left the area after the dastardly act.

The Sawla District Police Commander, ASP Degraft Armah Adjei has also confirmed the incident to Yagbon News.

According to him the body has since been conveyed to the Sawla District Hospital awaiting auptosy while a search has been launched by the police to have the suspect apprehended.
