Maintain peace to ensure development – Savannah Regional Minister to Mpaha residents.

The Savannah Regional Minister Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril has has called on the people of Mpaha to maintain peace in the area to ensure total development.

The Minister was Speaking at the chief Palace at Mpaha when he and members of the Savannah Regional Security Council paid a visit to victims of two communities, Losumpe and Kejasa near Mpaha who were involved in a land litigation leading to the death of one 48 year old Alhassan Fuseini with several others injured during the scuffle.

Hon. Jibril, stated that the development in the Region will only be possible if peace is maintained and that time has passed where people fight just to be able to survive.

He reiterated that anybody who has been involved in orchestrating the crime would not be left off the hook because those days in the past where one causes a crime of murder and go scout free is no more.

The Minister also advised that, the particular land in contention where sand is winned has seized its operations until the matter is resolved.

He told the people to refrain from acts of taking the law into their own hands as he recounted that the youth who were engaged in their farming activities peacefully has to flee the community as a result of the confilict which he said retards development.

Hon. Muhazu warned that anyone caught engage in winning the sand which is been injuncted will face the law squarely.

He pleaded with the people to live in peace with another while REGSEC and the chiefs works towards resolving the matter amicably.

The minister also visited the people who were victims of the conflict.
