Mr Mahama Zakaria, the current Vice Chairman of the Sawla -Tuna- Kalba constituency in the Savannah Region has emerged as a leading contender for the Chairmanship position in the Sawla -Tuna- Kalba constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), bringing to the contest strong party credentials, and extensive experiences.
Within the NDC, his party credentials span from grassroots organization and national engagement.
According to a statement issued by his aide Mr Eddie Adams ,the decision taken by his boss to seek for the chairmanship position is rooted in a simple but powerful belief, “our grassroots deserve better, better engagement, better support, and better representation within the party structure, Our strength as a party lies not in a few, but in the many who dedicate their time, energy, and loyalty at the base”.
He added that if given the nod,he will prioritize the strengthening of our branches, because a strong constituency is built on active and empowered branches.
And also work to ensure that communication flows effectively, opportunities are shared fairly, and every member feels a true sense of belonging.
“My leadership will be anchored on unity, inclusiveness, and respect for all. I will promote collaboration over division, and service over self-interest. Together, we will rebuild trust, energize our base, and position our constituency for greater political success”, he added.
He is the current Vice Chairman of the Constituency, a member of the party’s Communications Team, and held several leadership positions during his student and professional life.
Political analysts within the party point to his combination of experience, administrative competence, and regional development exposure as key qualifications for the Sawla -Tuna- Kalba constituency Chairmanship.
Supporters argue that his deep understanding of party structures, coupled with his ability to coordinate across constituency and stakeholder groups, positions him to strengthen party cohesion and electoral performance in the constituency.
