Hon. Donald Soditey Dari laid to rest at Duume.

The late former Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Donald Soditey Dari, has been laid to rest at a private burial at Duume in the Savannah Region.

The NDC stalwart died after a short illness.

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress led by General Secretary of the party, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, attended the funeral to pay their last respect to the former NDC member.

Speaking, at the funeral ground,the largest opposition political party scribe, said the legacy left behind by the former NDC MP for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba would forever be remembered by the party’s fraternity.

“I knew Hon.Soditey Dari way back during the time he was the constituency chairman of the party and he was a strong man. He stood for the NDC and made his voice heard wherever he was,” Nketiah said.

“One thing I also remember about him was the fact he was not the vociferous type of person but has always supported the NDC, he was always championed the cause of the NDC. The best tribute NDC can give him is for us to continue with his legacy,” Nketiah added.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Lonsina Barikisu Watara, who was there to mourn with the family applauded the late Soditey Dari for his hard work and resilience adding that the District had lost a hero and there was the need for others to follow in his footsteps.

“As a District, we have lost a great person and others must be encouraged to follow in his footsteps,” Barikisu said.

Hon. Soditey,  who passed on May 22, 2022, was laid to rest in Duume in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District last on Saturday, July 2, 2022, after a burial mass graced by the General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, and other top officials of the Party.

Aseidu Nketiah was accompanied by the First Vice Chairman of the Party, Chief Sofo Awudu Azorka, the Savannah Regional Secretary, Salisu Be-Awurbe,the Savannah Regional Chairman, constituency chairmen, the MP’s caucus led by Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey included, John Abdulai Jinapor, Zuwera Ibrahim, Joseph Yelechire, former Wa- West MP, Adams Mutawakilu, former MP for Damongo,the DCE for Sawla,the DCE for Wa- West , the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba NPP constituency chairman, Mohammed Fuseini, among others.

It was also attended by traditional rulers, the clergy and constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress, as well as party faithfuls of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The solemn ceremony, attended by a mass of the local public, looked a befitting parting tribute to a man whose affable character was a common strand in the tributes of family, friends, work associates and political acquaintances.
