Ghana Football Awards; Iddrisu Abdulai wins Goalkeeper of the year.

The Safest Pair of hands for Ghana Premier league side Bechem United has been adjudged the best Goalkeeper in the country in an event organised in collaboration with Ghana Football Association in Accra on Saturday July 2nd 2022.

He beat current number goalie of the senior national team the Black Stars Jojo Walcoat and Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Ibrahim Danland to the award.

The former Sawla based Division Two club STK Stars shot stopper was very instrumental in post for Bechem United this season.

Iddrisu, nicknamed Sylva after the legendary Brazilian goalkeeper kept an unprecedented 18 clean sheets for the Hunters and won two man of the match awards helping the Bechem Based club to finish in the league and runners up in the MTN FA cup.

In his acceptance speech, the pround native of Bole who was waring a beautiful smock to show that he indeed comes from the Gonja Land acknowledged the contribution his club president, the management board, the technical team and his team mates for thier tremendous support.

He also thanked his Manager Mr Ofosuhene Asante.

His award was handed over to him by two former Black Stars coaches, Abubakari Samba and Fatawu Dauda.

It is expected that a large crowd of supporters would turn up to welcome him home to Bole for the short holidays.
