This adds on to the many other kind gestures of H.E John Mahama in being a father to the fatherless and supporting the less privileged in times of their need within the Savannah region, the statement indicated.

“We continue to pray for H.E John Mahama for his kindness and benevolence to us, as a region”, Mr Malik said.

Background.

Some 17 persons were reported dead in a fatal accident on the Offinso-Abofour road in the Ashanti Region on Monday morning, November 1,2021.

Sixteen others reportedly sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Sprinter bus heading towards the northern part of the country is said to have collided with a trailer from the opposite direction, causing the unfortunate accident.

The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the morgue, for identification, autopsy and preservation.

The Offinso MTTD Commander, DSP Edmund Nyamekye, said preliminary investigations show that the driver of the trailer may have dozed off, leading to the collision with the Sprinter bus.
