The Bole District Director of NCCE and the District Electoral Commission Officer have both assured residents of the Bole-Bamboi constituency in the Savannah Region of peace in the upcoming polls.

The District Electoral Officer Mr. Gyedua Isaac urged constituents to come out in their numbers to cast their ballots come December 7.

In an interview with Diwura Abdul-Fataw on “Tea cup” morning show of Yagbon Radio, Mr. Gyedua Isaac assured the public of adequate security, early deployment of electoral equipment and early commencement of the electoral process at the various polling stations in the constituency as scheduled.

Mr. Gyedua Isaac said “we didn’t delay during the special voting and everything was done properly as expected and we shall ensure that on the actual voting day the same thing happens without disappointments”.

He noted that there were no issues of missing names of voters during the special voting process on Tuesday, December 1, and no case of violence recorded and hence hopes that the same story repeats come 7th December 2020.

He disclosed that the commission has trained people who are virtually impaired on how to cast their vote without the help of others and assured persons with disability of a special treatment at the various polling stations on the election day.

The Bole District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education Mr. Ebo Koomson disclosed that there are 33 hotspots in the constituency with kadawu centre 1 and 2 polling stations in Bole and all mining communities within the constituency as major hotspots.

He noted that out of the 33 hotspots, the NCCE has visited 12 hotspots so far and hope to visit the rest before 7th December.

Speaking on electoral education, Mr. Ebo Komson said “I and my team have visited and educated so many communities, youth groups and students on how to cast their vote properly with first time voters and the aged as our main targets”.

He said he expects zero or very small number of spoilt ballots most especially with the parliamentary candidate ballot sheet since there are only two contestants in the constituency.

Individual callers took turn to express their views, concerns and asked questions which were appreciated and answered as well.
