Madam Asana, a teacher and a mother of three who has been down with a kidney failure for the past three years has received financial support from Wipe Away Foundation, a charitable organization operating in the Savannah Region.

Wipe Away Foundation had a call from a twin sister of madam Asana in August 2020 who narrated the condition of her sister and sought help from the foundation.

A door-to-door fundraising campaign was initiated by the Executive Director of Wipe Away Foundation, Mr Mufti Habibu Borejinkpr and staff to tour the Savannah Region to solicit funds from individuals to facilitate the surgery in India.

Communities toured include Busunu, Damongo, Canteen, Larabanga, Bole, Tinga, Banda Nkwanta, Kui, Dollar Power, Cloff, Dakurpe, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba. Other communities are Buipe, Kpembe, Salaga, Daboya among others.

Contributions from these communities, individual donations, corporate and organizational donors contributed to this significant milestone.

On Monday November 30, 2020 Wipe Away Foundation presented a cheque of $10,000 United States Dollars to madam Asana at the dialysis unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital to facilitate the processes of a kidney transplant in India.

Speaking at the short ceremony at TTH, Executive Director of Wipe Away Foundation Mr Mufti Habibu Borejinkpr said “it’s something we should all do for humanity, we can all put our little resources together and save lives of some people.

Basically, we are here to present on behalf of our donors an amount of $10,000, he indicated.

Speaking on behalf of madam Asana, Mr Yahaya Wanzam Adams, head of the dialysis unit at TTH thanked Wipe Away Foundation for their kind gesture and appeal to other donors to come to the aid of madam Asana and other patients.

“Thank you so much, we are so grateful for your donation. It will go a long way in relieving her plight. We are praying that other people will come on board with the rest of the support so that she can have her transplant done for her”, Mr Yahaya added.
