The Division Two League which is the third tier league in Ghana football hirechy has commenced nationwide.
All registered teams in the division in the Savannah Region have been categorised into three Zones, ie Buipe, Damango and Bole zones.
The seven teams competing in the Bole Zone include Bole based teams; Bole United, Bole Super Stars and Pusher FC, STK Stars, Kayinti FC and Tuna Hawks are the other three teams from the Sawla Tuna Kalba District whiles the 7th team called Savannah FC is based in Larabanga.
The competition which begins on Saturday June 19, 2021 is an all play all tournament.
The top two teams from this Zone will qualify together with table toppers of the other two zones for a sub-middle league at a yet to be announced venue, the winner of which will then join others in Tamale for the Middle league which serves as the final tournament for qualification for Division One and also the MTN FA cup Competition.
Expressing their readiness for the competition on your favorite weekend sports Preview program on Yagbon Radio, Mr Kwame Adjei (Pusher) the CEO of pusher said though this is their maiden appearance in the league they have prepared adequately for the challenge and will give the other teams a run for their money.
Mr Osama Tokoro, an official of Bole Super Stars stated emphatically that the experience his team gained having competed at this level all those years would be brought to bear to give them the advantage.
On his part, Bole United technical manager, Coach Issah proclaimed his side was ready for the battle but urge fans to show good sporting behavior during games.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the STK District Football Association, Mr Alhassan Abdul Mumin in an earlier interview indicated that all three teams from his end were also ready especially STK Stars which he coaches. He was optimistic that his team would qualify for Division One having come close to doing that a couple of years back.
