Dawah Academy, GHS urges Ghanaians to vaccinate against COVID-19 and Yellow Fever.

The best time to vaccinate and protect yourself against COVID-19 and Yellow Fever is now, the Dawah Academy in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has advised residents of Bole and its surroundings.

In a town hall meeting held on April 28, 2022, which brought together Assembly members youth leaders, Local council of church’s,  the Muslim community, among others indicated that vaccinating against the two diseases is the surest way to combating them.

With support from UNDP, the Dawah Academy is to run a project in Bole and in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Districts of the Savannah Region by encouraging residents to accept the vaccines.

In a welcome the Director of Dawah Academy expressed his gratitude to all participants for attending the meeting.

He said Ghana Health Service has done a lot in the vaccination program and that the town hall meeting is to compliment their efforts.

He said some people are recalcitrant to the extent that only their religious and traditional leaders can convince them to take part in some activities for that matter yellow fever and COVID vaccinations.

He said the selection of participants is for that reason and urged all to contribute to national development.

Facilitators urged citizens to to take part in the immunization programs.

According the facilitators diseases that has vaccine must be prevented adding that it is always a sad moment for a person to die from a disease that is preventable .

The said all should patronage the COVID and yellow fever vaccines for us to have healthy society.

The District Deputy Director of health services, Mr Asomah Collins, said Bole District recorded 10 cases with 4 deaths for Yellow Fever.

He assured us a zero society of diseases infections if we all vaccinate but warn that any one allergic to egg yolk should not vaccinate against Yellow Fever.
