The Church of Pentecost has inaugurated its Chieftaincy Ministry in the Sawla area of the Savannah Region.

The primary aim of the Chieftaincy Ministry is to bridge the gap between traditional leaders and the church.

In this regard, the gospel could be sent to the Palaces to win more souls for Christ.

The newly created Chieftaincy Ministry forms part of the Vision 2023 of the church.

Addressing the Chiefs and church members under Psalm 20 ,the Area Head of the COP, Sawla, Pastor David Amankwa said one can never under estimate the importance of chiefs in societal development.

He said chiefs are the custodians of the land and one cannot do anything in the community without their approval.

The Area Head said there has been a misconception that anything chieftaincy is idol worship and satanic adding that everyone thinks chiefs will go to hell which cannot be justified.

He said that the church of Pentecost has agreed to accepting the African culture saying the traditional dance and wearing of cloth has become part of them.

Speaking on behalf Bolewura, Sawlawura Abdulai Nungbaso said Bolewura said it has it has become a fact that COP is not only for religious activities but has now extended its initiatives to chieftaincy development.

Sawlawura said he is saddened when the head pastor mentioned that the performance of Sawla SHS has not been encouraging and promised with better performance in the years above.

He said with education and water provision, he has seen the church efforts in area while advising parents to bring up their children morally not involved in thievery and armed robberies.

Sawlawura said that the devil finds work for ideal hands adding that parents should give their wards education and skills training to abstain from social vices.

Sawlawura encouraged others chiefs to embrace the church to foster development in their communities

Kong wura however pleaded with church to establish a school in the kong to develop the young ones.

An eight member committee was formed to steer the affairs of the ministry.
