Church of Pentecost builds accomodation for Police at Kakiase check point.

The Church of Pentecost in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service in the Sawla Tuna Kalba District has on June, 29, 2021, commissioned and handed over an accommodation for the Kakiase police check point to beef up security.

The project which cost a little over Ghc15,000 is expected to house officers on duty during rains and to enable change their clothing  appropriately.

Addressing participants at the durbar, the Area Head of the church Apostle Williams Ohemeng Kwakye said the project is executed through the glory of God.

He said the project forms part of the COP five year strategic developmental project dubbed “possessing the nation to transform the values and principles of the kingdom”.

Apostle kwakye said when he received the news on the stalled project in kakiase he and his team seized the opportunity to see the completion of the accommodation and pleaded with officers at post to maintain the structure to the glory of God.

The District Commander for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba ASP Degraft Adjei Armah ,said he is glad his name is on history books to have served the people of Sawla-Tuna- Kalba District well.

He and his men however were grateful to the COP for the swift intervention as the facility will help provide a safe place for h be free from mosquito bites and bad weather exposure to help in the fight against crime.

He also pleaded for them to consider putting up similar facilities at Tuna and Yipala police check points to make the police easily accessible and also pleaded if they could add another structure which include an office accommodation and a holding center that could be turned into a police station in the near future.

Hon Chiwitey Dari Andrew, MP for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency said he was very grateful for the kind gesture and said the politician cannot do it all unless support from organizations like this.

The Deputy Ranking member of Works and Housing Committee in parliament promised to give a fridge to the police check ponit and also to put up a structure of the same kind in either Yipala or Tuna.

He also said the Assembly should assist him receive a pick up he requested from the Interior minister for the STK police and pleaded with the police to sensitize his constituent’s on the laws of the country such that they’re not breached.

Kakiasewura, who was enthused about the facility said that two years after this post has being set here there are no more reported cases of armed robbery and pleaded with the Police commander to always assist when he calls on him.

Mr Abu Ibrahim the Deputy Coordinating Director said the Assembly is always ready to collaborate with the police to clamp down crime and also expressed gratitude to COP for building such a beautiful edifice.

Trees were however planted to green the area.
