A Youth Summit has been organized under the auspices of the Bole Traditional Council in Bole at the Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge on Saturday 18th May, 2024.

Speaking at the Summit, Chief Kanyepewura Solomon Tampuri mentioned that the forum is being organized for the youth groups to come together and deliberate on issues of concern within the Bole Traditional Area.

The forum intends is to see how they can galvanized the youth in the Bole Traditional Area in terms of providing the necessary facilities for the group of the entire Traditional Area.

The Lawyer also mentioned that, some of the key areas identified are the road networks within the Bole Community, the desire of the youth to see development in certain areas, getting an Astro Turf for sporting activities, ultra modern community center, parks and gardens, recreational centers for children and some entertainment facilities within the Bole Traditional Area.

Chief Tampuri emphasized that it is the desire of the youth to be able to empower themselves in the areas of employment and self employment opportunities.

He said they intend to form a formidable youth group within the Bole Traditional Area which will cut across all camps within the Bole communities and it will be well represented including women and young girls so they will be together under one umbrella.

Chief Solomon Tampuri concluded by saying it’s been a successful forum and a lot has been said and they will sit down and reflect over every single issue that was mentioned in the forum and will put everything together in a written form and give copies to every attendee who was in the Summit and various Camps for analysis and they are hoping that before the end of the year they will have a second Summit and in that second Summit the will begin the process of materializing everything they have discussed in this particular Forum he said.

Dr. Sheriff Adam speaking during the Summit said the issue about Bole has always been one that has galvanized the interest of many of them and so when the opportunity offered it self in the form of discussions about what they can do to move Bole forward.

Dr. Sheriff again said that they are glad that they are able to organize this forum and have been able to touch on all the issues that have been raised especially issues about entertainment centers, employment, sports, rehabilitation of offenders, issues about physical development, land use planing and how they can move Bole from the position where it is now.

And again I am impressed about the interest that the youth have shown, so they are looking forward to form a group that will then translate what they discussed into something in a form of blue print to direct how they want to achieve in Bole and how things should go, and that is the take away item that they have all agree upon so they can have a working group that will develop a blue print.

The summit aimed to increase youth engagement and interest in agriculture, create good employment opportunities, help reduce poverty, and ensure sustainable agricultural-led economic growth in Bole.
