Bole-Bamboi MP appeals for assistance for flood victims at Ntereso.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole -Bamboi Constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana has appealed to relief agencies to assist a community (Ntereso), in his constituency who were affected by the recent floods that hit the area.

The MP made the appeal on Thursday, September 29, during a tour with his constituency executives to the affected area to assess the damage caused by the flood.

Speaking to the MP, most of the victims indicated that their foodstuffs
were soaked with mud and they had nothing to eat.

Their properties including mattresses, and clothes had been washed away.

Others also told the MP that they had been rendered homeless and were staying with their relatives and friends and most of their crops had been destroyed.

The Member of Parliament later donated items worth GH₵18,000 to the flood victims.

The items which were basically food commodities were meant to cushion the victims in anticipation of the next planting season, as most of them had lost their crops to the flood.

The items included bags of rice, cooking oil, packets of tomatoes paste and soap.

Making the presentation, Hon.Yusif who pledged to offer more assistance to the residents in times of difficulties said the gesture was to cushion the affected residents.

He was worried over the magnitude of the incident and described it as a serious natural disaster.

Recipients of the items expressed their appreciation to the MP for the items and called on other benevolent persons to also come to their aid.
