Bole District Health Directorate Awards Staff

The Bole District Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Services has called on stakeholders to come to their aid as it hopes to continue providing quality health care to the general public.

The call was made during a staff awards ceremony which was held to recognize and reward deserving health workers in the Bole District.

The awards ceremony which is the first of its kind to be held by the Directorate honored a total number of 28 workers with different category of awards.

The awards included best performed health centre, best performed facility, best deserving medical officer, hardworking midwives, best performed CHPs facility staff, best general nurse, hardworking public staff, volunteers, and best orderly worker Award.

Mr. David Bakuri, Bole District Director of Health congratulated the award winners for their sterling performances that earned them the recognition and also urged them to serve as role models to their other colleagues.

Mr. David said the Bole District Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Service recognizes the issue of staff welfare and motivation as key to improving staff commitment and performance, hence the decision by the Directorate to award hardworking and deserving staff in appreciation of their contribution to improved service delivery in the District.

According to the Director, the District has witnessed some positive developments in the delivery of health care.

Notable among them are the handing over of 3 furnished CHPs compound to the Directorate by the District Assembly, two bed room to accommodate staff at Chache CHPs by Mr Ibrahim Mahama, support from Zakat Foundation of America with hospital beds, motor king ambulances, drilling of boreholes among others and support from NEA with HB machines, RDT for testing malaria, pregnancy test, BP apparatus including others, as well as the renovation of the hospital paediatric ward used as covid-19 isolation ward.

That notwithstanding, he was quick to add that the Directorate needed more aid to help in its delivery of efficient and effective healthcare.

“Critical among them include the DHMT building which is too small to contain the staff, lack of residential accommodation for the staff, lack of furniture and logistics in some facilities, lack of renovation of some facilities that are in a deporable state typical of such are Kakiasi, Seripe and Kwame Kwesi CHPs compound need expansion and renovation”.

The Savannah Regional Health Director Mr. Chrisantus Kubio, speaking at the event commended the management of the Directorate for organizing the event in order to motivate the continuous staff and those who are going on retirement.

Mr. Kubio therefore congratulated all staff, especially the award winners and hoped that it will go a long way in improving the service delivery at the District.

Madam Veronica Alele Heming, District Chief Executive for Bole, speaking at the event equally commended the Directorate for organizing such an event, as she noted that ” an organization that does not value the roles of its workers does not realize its targeted goals”.

She also promised the Directorate of her full support in aiding the Directorate to achieve its targeted goals and equally thanked all individuals who contributed to making this awards ceremony come true.

She particularly thanked Dr. David Mensah of NEA, CEO of Zakat Foundation of America, Alhaji Salia, the MP for Bole- Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, Wuripe and Sons Lodge and Mr Seidu Mohammed popularly known as Dollar Power for their massive support in making the ceremony a reality.

Various prizes, including televisions sets, laptops, bicycles, washing machines,gas cookers and refrigerators were given out to various award winners at the ceremony.
